Privacy Policy

AlphaHelm ("AlphaHelm", "we", "us") provides quantitative market signals and educational content. This service is operated by Steve Russell, an individual based in Australia.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It applies to the AlphaHelm website and account.

• Account information — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile image from Google instead of a password.
• Subscription & payment information — your subscription status and plan. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card number or full payment details.
• Content you create — watchlists, portfolios, and related settings you save in your account.
• Communications — messages you send us for support.
• Usage & analytics data — if you consent to analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. This is not collected unless you accept.

• To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
• To provide the service and the content you subscribe to.
• To process subscriptions and payments through Stripe.
• To send transactional email (password resets, account and billing notices).
• To send product and marketing email where you have not opted out — you can unsubscribe at any time.
• To understand and improve how the site is used (analytics, with your consent).
• To measure whether our advertising leads to sign-ups and subscriptions.
• To respond to support requests and to meet legal obligations.

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (to provide the service); our legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the service, and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising); your consent (for analytics and advertising cookies, and marketing email); and compliance with legal obligations.

We use essential cookies needed to run the site, such as keeping you signed in. These are always active.

We use Google Analytics to understand site usage. The analytics cookie only loads if you accept it in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer.

If you reach us through an advertisement, we use advertising measurement cookies to tell whether that ad led to a sign-up or subscription. Like analytics, these only load if you accept them in the cookie banner.

Separately, when you create an account or start a subscription we send a conversion event to the advertising platform we advertise on, directly from our servers. This tells the platform that a sign-up or purchase happened so we can measure our advertising. It contains an irreversibly scrambled (hashed) form of your email address and account identifier — never your email in readable form — plus the amount of any subscription purchased. Because it is sent from our servers rather than your browser, it does not rely on cookies and is not controlled by the cookie banner. If you would prefer we did not send these events about your account, contact us at alphahelmsupport@gmail.com and we will exclude you.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers ("processors") needed to run AlphaHelm, and where required by law:

Several of our providers are located in the United States and elsewhere, so your information may be processed outside your country, including outside Australia and the EEA. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the providers' standard contractual clauses) to protect it.

We keep account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Password reset links expire within one hour. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' retention settings.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorised access.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email us at alphahelmsupport@gmail.com.

Australia: you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). EU/UK: you may complain to your local data protection authority. California: we do not sell your personal information, and you may request to know or delete the information we hold.

AlphaHelm is not intended for, and we do not knowingly collect information from, anyone under 18.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
