Outlook
Survey Outlook

What it is
A line chart that aggregates 20 forward-looking economic survey results (e.g. consumer confidence, business sentiment) into a single NIRD signal over time.
How to read it
The zero line is the dividing point. When the line is above zero, more surveys are pointing toward growth-supportive conditions for that regime. Below zero, more are pointing toward deteriorating conditions. The further from zero, the stronger the consensus.
Why it matters
Surveys are leading indicators — they capture expectations before they show up in hard economic data like GDP prints. A deteriorating survey outlook often precedes actual economic weakness by several months.
